The three causes

The time of birth is unknown or rounded

The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day – a good two gates. If the certificate gives a rounded time or none at all, it is not the chart that is wrong but the input that is blurred. Showing a single point result then merely pretends to certainty.

Time zone and daylight saving

Many calculators ask for an hour offset instead of the place of birth. That drops historical daylight saving – Germany had none at all between 1950 and 1979, and a double one for a while before that. Being one hour off moves the Moon by half a degree.

Mean or true lunar node

The lunar node can be computed as a smoothed mean or as the actual value. Up to 1.9 degrees lie between them – a third of a gate. Both routes are correct, they simply answer different questions.

What is NOT behind it

House systems play no role in Human Design – unlike astrology, there is no dispute about them here. And the place of birth enters only through the time zone, never through the coordinates.
